Technician Profile: Elvin E

Who you are, in 100 words or less?

Hi, my name is Elvin, pleasure to meet you! I'm 22 years old, a proud Hispanic, full of energy, and a simple guy who loves to help people with technology. For the past 10 years, I've dedicated my life to learning all there is about technology, so I can help others understand it better. I'm an expert at installing, troubleshooting, and diagnosing several electronics such as all the Nest Products, computers, televisions, smart phones, smart home devices, and much more. My motto is "Never to say 'I don't know', but instead, 'I'll find out'".

What are your hobbies and interests?

I enjoy playing video games, building computers, fixing computers, and learning about new electronic products that hit that market. I’m the type of person that you’ll always see using a new piece of tech, and then teaching others about it! I also love to travel, socialize, and cook.

If you had a chance to meet anyone in history, who would it be?

I would want to meet Thomas Edison because I feel like I can relate to his famous quote where he says: “I have not failed 10,000 times. I have not failed once. I have succeeded in proving that those 10,000 ways will not work. When I have eliminated the ways that will not work, I will find the way that will work.”

      What is/are your favorite food(s)?

Growing up in Jersey City, I have been exposed to foods from many different cultures, however most Spanish foods I eat seem to take first prize with me. I would say I mostly enjoy Hispanic foods, such as maduros, tacos, tostones, and pretty much any Spanish styled cooking.

What is your favorite movie/tv show/book?

My favorite movie hands down would have to be Scott Pilgrim VS The World. That movie has a lot of video game references in it, see if you can catch them all!

What is a place you’d like to go, where you’ve never been?

On the list of places I wish to travel to someday, Japan is #1. I’ve always been interested in their culture, and visiting Tokyo someday has always been a dream of mine.

          Favorite childhood memory?

My favorite childhood memory would go back to when I was about 10 years old and I moved to a new house with my family for the first time. Everything was new and exciting, and there was so much to take in and learn about my new environment. Of course, I did remember missing my old home, but I found the positives of that new area right away, which made me happy.
